More Than Brushes

Hi! It's Scott from Brick by Brick. I love to repurpose materials—use materials in ways different from their intended use. My Kids love to paint and we repurpose all kinds of items to use for painting. Here are a few things we've used to paint.

Shoes

Marbles and Golf Balls

Cookie Cutters

Slinkys

Cups (and other circle shapes)

Combs (and various brushes)

Our hands (of course!)

What do you like to use with the paint?

My name is Scott, though most call me Mr. Scott. I love teaching preschoolers and kindergartners. I have been working with kids for over 25 years. I've been a teacher, preschool center director, volunteer, curriculum writer and editor, and workshop and conference leader. I blog at Brick by Brick.

  1. I've had fun using all different sorts of objects for stamping. But I've never used shoes ... very cool! I pinned your post to my Kids' Art Projects Pinterest board at http://pinterest.com/debchitwood/kids-art-projects/

  2. We like to use cookie cutters, too. Another favorite is cars and trucks. It's fun to see the different Kim of tracks they make.

  3. Great ideas, Scott!!!! We love trying new object in paint. Kitchen implements can be lots of fun, too! It's the exploration that is the key! :)
