Have a wonderful workshop with this teacher who gets it, and keep up the good work!Connie Bergstein Dowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01032317818974425294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7820655223655850123.post-56810375750346652572014-11-25T11:03:02.948-05:002014-11-25T11:03:02.948-05:00HOORAY for CONNIE!!! We don't have to worry about being the squeaky wheel - we need to worry about what NOT shouting this from the rooftops is doing to children! At the recent NAEYC conference, an attendee asked if I could come to her country to speak to her teachers. Then she came to my workshop, which was "Active Music: Dancing and Moving with Children". She returned to my booth to ask if I could change some of my workshop's content to fit her needs. What would you like to change, I asked. "Less movement!" she said! I will not be going to her school. HOWEVER, someone else from the same country has invited me to come work with her teachers - 200 of them! So, there ARE people who get it. Keep making noise - and keep those little bodies moving!Miss Carolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02417234060832541755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7820655223655850123.post-3140257456741654272014-11-22T12:40:29.683-05:002014-11-22T12:40:29.683-05:00Good for you, Julie. I am the only one openly questioning some of the ridiculous changes we have made at our school. (Multiple formal assessments starting in TK????) Oh my goodness, I know I am the squeeky wheel, but I just feel that if enough of us stood up, stomped our foot and spoke up, maybe things would change. Here's hoping.....
